ABOUT SKYLARK
Architectural Concept:
Taking his cues from the client, lead designer Josh Nathanson, envisioned Skylark as the next
generation in Diner design. While taking inspiration from the jet-age of the 1960’s he was careful
not to simply replicate past architecture.
Instead, he chose bold design elements evocative of mid-century airports that could translate into a
fun and functional restaurant. The exterior, with it’s large buttresses supporting a wing-shaped awning
becomes an iconic landmark in the New Jersey landscape. The interior is inviting with brightly colored
tiles, bold fabrics, and sleek seating. The lighting too adds plenty of visual interest. Custom chrome
fixtures are suspended alongside colorful, space aged shaped pendants.
Operational Concept:
Skylark Fine Diner and Lounge, with futuristic and retro murals, draws its design inspiration from the
dawn of commercial jet travel in the late 60’s and 70’s. This concept, the renovation of the famous
New Jersey diner, combines a remarkably high level of culinary and service excellence, with the energy
and excitement of plasma screens, dynamic lighting and great music. Simply put, it’s the place to be for outstanding food served by an amazing staff in a stimulating and entertaining atmosphere. Uniquely,
Skylark transitions its ambiance throughout the day as smoothly as the changing of the seasons. With its
light colors and floor to ceiling windows Skylark is a perfect setting for breakfast, lunch, dinner or dessert.
